Mother Rucker Mercantile started in our own kitchen. As a mother, I'd already cut seed oils from how we cook, and tallow had become a staple. We kept it on hand and used it every day. Then I read about using it on skin. One night I went into the kitchen, dipped a finger into a jar of tallow, and rubbed it on my face. It felt a little silly. But it also felt good, better than anything I'd been putting on my skin.
So we started making it ourselves, in small batches, with a handful of real ingredients and nothing synthetic. Everything we sell is something we make and use at home first. No fragrance oils, no fillers. Just honest skincare for the whole family.
A look at what we make and where we go, from the kitchen to market days.
